Had to Buy Another Iseries Server
When buying new and used iseries servers make sure that you are getting one that can handle what you need it to. I bought a used bladecenter server last year, and it could not handle the workload that I threw at it. I should have hired a computer guy to advise me on how big it needed to be.
I sold the used bladecenter and opted to a new iseries server that I was sure could handle the workload that I needed it to. At least that is what the sales man told me. I was confident that since the salesman had said that it could keep up, that it would never have any problems. I was way off; it went down after two months of work.
I went back to the store where I had bought it, and the salesman who sold it to me did not work there anymore. The store did not stand behind what he had said. When I had their tech guy come to check it out, he said that I had overloaded it. Once again, I did not have a server that could handle the workload. I ended up buying an additional iseries server to take some of the pressure of the first one. They have been working fine ever since.
